Planning and Zoning Board
The Planning and Zoning Board is a group of dedicated volunteers who serve as advisors to the Town Council on all matters related to zoning, land use, and community planning. Their primary goal is to promote and maintain a high quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The Board is responsible for reviewing all proposed changes to the town's zoning regulations, development codes, and comprehensive plans. They also evaluate proposed land use changes and make recommendations to the Town Council regarding the approval or denial of development projects.
The Board is composed of seven members, and appointed by the Town Council for three-year terms. Members are selected based on their professional backgrounds, expertise, and commitment to the community. The Planning & Zoning Board acts as a recommending body to the Town Council. Members of the board must be residents of the Town, with preference given to property owner applicants. The terms of the office for members shall be 3 years from the date of appointment by the Town Council.
The Planning & Zoning Board meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in Town Hall located at 101 N. Palm Avenue.
