Overview

The Town of Howey-in-the-Hills has an active contract with Alpha Inspections Inc., to provide oversight of all new construction projects (commercial and residential), additions and alterations of existing structures, through permitting, plan review and inspections services within the town limits. This is accomplished by following the guidelines of the Florida Building Code and the Town of Howey-in-the-Hills of Ordinances. 

The Permit Clerk advises applicants about the permitting process and provides information for all customer questions and requests.

Please submit applications online, https://www.alpha-inspections.net/upload-plans.html. Permit applications must be sufficient and complete. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Please refer to the check-lists that are included with each application.

Any changes to or on your existing property must have permits and zoning clearance., such as:

• Additions
• Renovations
• Decks
• Docks
• Sheds and storage buildings
• Fences
• Signs
• Driveways
• Pools above and in-ground
• Pool enclosures and screen enclosures 
• Aluminum structures

All new construction such as single family homes and commercial building construction need permits and zoning clearance.
