Our library is an essential part of our community, offering a variety of resources and programs for people of all ages. The Library Board is a group of dedicated volunteers who work to ensure that the library is meeting the needs of our community.

What is the Library Board?

The Library Board is a group of citizens appointed by the Town Council who serve as an advisory body to the Library Director and the Town Council. Members are volunteers who are passionate about the library and its role in the community.

The Library Board meets on a regular basis to discuss library policies, programs, and initiatives. Members help to promote the library within the community.

The purpose of the Library Board is to:

• Advise the Library Director on library policies and programs.
• Promote the library within the community.
• Encourage public support for the library.
• Provide input on the library's budget and strategic plan.
• Ensure that the library is meeting the needs of all members of the community.

Who can join the Library Board?

Membership on the Library Board is open to all residents of Howey-in-the-Hills area who are passionate about the library and its role in the community. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds.

How can I get involved with the Library Board?

If you are interested in joining the Library Board, please contact the library director or attend one of our meetings, which are open to the public. We welcome your input and participation!

The Library Board meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Marianne Beck Memorial Library  located at 112 W. Central Avenue, Howey-in-the-Hills.
