Public Works Notice - Water Service Lines Inspections

The Town of Howey-in-the-Hills Public Works Department has hired a contractor to inspect water service lines/pipes at the properties of some of our customers, including your property. Inspections are being conducted to identify existing pipe material on each side of the water meter in order to determine whether the service line contains lead.

The contractor performing these inspections is Utility Repair Experts. The contractor will have clearly marked vehicles.

Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. This project will start on 8/27/2024 and is scheduled to be completed by 9/30/2024.

The contractor will not need to enter your home.

Digging will occur around the water meter box typically located at the front of the home near the sidewalk/street.

The inspection will not interrupt your water service.

If your water service line is determined to be lead, the Town will contact you with additional information.
